Our District and Northwest Indiana continue to suffer from the effects of the latest economic downturn. In times like these, it is important that we elect the strongest leadership we can -- leadership that will focus on the fundamental issues facing our District and not the views of special interests from elsewhere. I believe that my leadership experience gives me the ability to make a difference for our District in the Indiana State Legislature.

Bringing a Common Sense Approach to Government!

·• TRUST IN GOVERNMENT
I am one of the few candidates that have
NOT and will NOT use contributions from Lobbyists and PACs, and I will NOT be influenced by special interests

·• TAXES & GOVERNMENT SPENDING
I am committed to true tax reform, which requires a reduction in wasteful government spending and taxes that respect a Citizens ability to pay. I support the elimination of property taxes and a change towards a progressive income tax

·• SOUTH SHORE EXTENSION
The building of an extension for the South Shore rail road is vital to the future of economic development and job creation in Northwest Indiana. Instead of tax increases to fund the construction of a project like this, I will propose that the State commit funds from the Toll Road sale to match the Federal funds obtained by Rep Pete Visclosky

I am committed to supporting Indiana businesses and working to attract new businesses that offer more living wage jobs

I am committed to State support of our public education system

·• AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
I will commit to finding affordable health
care options for Hoosiers

·• PROTECTING STATE ASSETS
I will oppose any further sale of State assets, such as the Indiana Toll Road, to private and out of state companies. The sale (lease) of the Indiana Toll Road was a mistake that we are already paying for in Northwest Indiana
